Seize with Love

I am so in love with this sock. Magnificent colors! One of a kind sock. Handpainted. Have I already stated that I am in love with the sock? The colors! Divine! I SO LOVE THIS.
Ahem. Moving on.
Two weeks ago I visited Unwind with a friend. The friend that I corrupted (taught how to knit a month ago). He’s a willing victim by the way. So I visited and browsed. Then I spotted a basket of misti alpaca handpainted sock yarns. SIGH. I so loved the bird of paradise colorway that I carried the skein around with me for an hour before I left Unwind. Yes, I actually put the skein down. Yes, I didn’t BUY anything. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?
For two weeks I regretted not purchasing the lovely, lovely bird of paradise. I mourned. I may have kicked myself over the next few days for not giving in and whipping out my credit card.
Then I read Grumperina’s blog entries about her helix socks. Spiraling helix socks. Ah ha! HOW SO CLEVER! So I opened my Stanley handbook to helix knitting. INSPIRATION!
So I started a sock. Wait you say? Helix knitting with this sock? With what?
GUESS!
With Bellamoden’s sock yarn leftovers! Four colorways: Kingdom Come, Prague, Watership Down, Wizard of Oz and Lord of the Rings. Isn’t this sock FAB!!! I started with the Lord of the Rings, increasing to 52 stitches before I added other balls.
Isn’t this sooo beautiful.

I need one of those (well, two of those…
for myself!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
One sock: Christmas stocking. Or catnip sock for furry fiend.
It is absolutely stunning!
Really lovely sock. I would have never thought to mix multiple sock yarn, but it looks beautiful.
So beautiful is right.
And wasn’t your name something else before? You’re not playing mind games with me in APRIL are you? Are you?? Well???
Willing victim? Willing victim? Willing victim? Hmmph! Loverly project..of course I have no idea to what you are talking about. Post this blog again next year, and I will see if I should be more insulted or flattered.
I look forward to more of your whipping, err, tutorials!
[...] you see this? Dude. I can’t believe what she came up with! And that was with my yarn. Can you believe [...]
